Maison du Lac

Cologny holds perhaps forty properties of genuine consequence, and they rarely reach open market. Maison du Lac has been in the same family since 1948; the current sale follows a generational transfer rather than a change of heart.

The house is Belle Époque and unapologetic about it — a 1912 structure with the ceiling heights, enfilade planning, and window proportions of its period, brought to contemporary standards in a 2019 programme that touched every service but almost no original detail. The plaster, the parquet, and the principal stair are as built.

The park is the reason the property commands what it does. Fourteen thousand square metres of mature planting running down to a hundred and forty metres of private lake frontage, with a boathouse and a jetty that predate the current zoning and could not be built today.
